education-related projects

Marcos pointed out that students have already complained of learning less last school year when the learning method was first adopted due to the pandemic and having erroneous modules would only contribute more to the deterioration of the country’s educational standards.

“Hindi na nga sila natututo nang husto dahil sa mga problema sa Internet connectivity at mga distractions that they may also have to contend with in their homes, kung ’yung mga modules na nagsisilbing textbooks nila, eh, mali-mali pa, aba’y lalong hindi matututo ang ating mga kabataan,” he stressed.

disaster projects

(Not a project however, it is related to disaster) Marcos said he also ordered his team to ask around whether his supporters were behind the stunt, but he was told they had nothing to do with it.

"Sabi ko, 'bakit ako?' I immediately asked, 'I hope we have nothing to do with this. Tanong mo nga sa mga kasamahan natin. Ginawa ba nila ito? Dahil hindi tama ito.'" Under the Free Mobile Disaster Alerts Act, only government agencies such as the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA, and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or Phivolcs are mandated to send out disaster alerts through mobile phone service providers.

The Commission on Elections previously said that using an alert system "for anything other than emergencies" is "ill-advised." He said appropriate government agencies will determine whether those behind the stunt would be criminally liable.

Covid Response

FORMER senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday asked the government to make Covid-19 test kits more affordable, especially to ordinary workers.

He raised the need to make the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test kits readily available to the public as the country tries to jumpstart economic activities amid the surge in Covid cases.

Marcos, who himself got infected with Covid-19 in 2020, welcomed the Department of Health's (DoH) decision to lower the price ceiling of RT-PCR tests. "Maaari rin silang magbigay ng mga diskuwento kung kinakailangan (they can also give discounts if necessary)," Marcos added.
